It didn’t take long for the cat calls to come, and when they did, they had little time to reach Fernando Torres’ ears as he trudged down the tunnel at half time, never to return again to line up against Manchester United.

It had to end sometime. Spurs, perennially the plucky upstarts in this year’s Champions League, were exposed by Jose Mourinho’s brutally effective Real Madrid side on a sobering night in Madrid.

Arsene faces up to a few home truths

Arsenal were the sinners as Barcelona, the patron saints of beautiful football battered the pretenders to their throne at the Nou Camp last night. For all Arsene Wenger’s protests and squabbles with the referee after the final whistle had blown, his side took one hell of a beating on a night they had hoped to prove they deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as their simply astounding opponents.

Would the game have been a different one if Van Persie had not been the victim of a foolish decision by Swiss referee Massimo Busacca? Wenger certainly thought so. Click here for more (external link)

Moody Blues for England

Perhaps rolling in a field with 15 Welshman in rugby shirts wasn’t top of his “things to do” list this winter. You can’t blame him I suppose; it’s not on many peoples list, except maybe Gareth Thomas’s. 

But for England Captain Lewis Moody, the chance to get more closely acquainted with his Welsh counterparts was cruelly taken away from him as a knee injury he sustained playing for Bath against Aironi ruled him out for England’s opening game against Wales. to continue reading click here (external link)
